The Product Manager will help
establish, then guide a team to launch a new Renewable Energy
product line that will quickly contribute to a key division of
the corporation. You will perform ongoing market opportunity
assessments, to develop new products then develop and execute
the appropriate marketing and sales strategies. You will build
the product base from existing ideas, as well as help to develop
new ideas and products based on your industry experience and
your contact with customers, prospects and OEM’s.

An established company in the electro/mechanical
power conversion field seeks a Product Manager with Solar PV
experience to launch its new Renewable Energy product line
The Product Manager will help establish, then
guide a team to launch a new Renewable Energy product line that
will quickly contribute to a key division of the corporation. You
will perform ongoing market opportunity assessments, to develop new
products then develop and execute the appropriate marketing and
sales strategies. You will build the product base from existing
ideas, as well as help to develop new ideas and products based on
your industry experience and your contact with customers, prospects
and OEM’s.
The Product Manager must possess a unique blend of business and
technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that
vision a reality. You must enjoy spending time in the marketplace to
understand the emerging opportunities/problems, and find innovative
solutions to broaden the market, and interact with all areas of the
company, and management. In depth knowledge of the Solar PV
industry and systems design is critical. Marketing/sales and
systems integration experience are also important.
The Product Manager must be able to communicate
with all areas of the company, and senior management. You will help
recruit an experienced engineering counterpart to provide product
drawings, specifications, performance, cost, and product releases to
the market channel.
The product manager's role is both strategic and
tactical. You will provide the marketing knowhow to define the
market strategy, target market, product positioning, value
proposition and secure initial key customers. You will be the
internal and external champion for your product family, working with
the market channel and key customers and distributors, as necessary.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the
entire Energy Solutions product line life cycle from strategic
planning to product development and tactical activities –
Full Product line responsibility
- Specify market
requirements for current and future products by conducting
market research supported by on-going visits to customers,
OEM’s, and distributors.
- Drive a solution
set across development teams (primarily Development/Engineering,
and Marketing Communications) through.
- Develop and
implement a company-wide ‘go-to-market’ plan, working with all
departments and resources to execute, including market
requirements, product development, market channel development,
OEM contracts, product literature, competitive positioning, and
field support
- Analyze
potential partner and distribution relationships for the product
line.
REQUIREMENTS
- Engineering
degree preferred, but will also consider relevant work
experience.
- 3-5 years of
Solar PV industry marketing/product management experience.
- Broader
experience in renewable energy, distributed generation, and
their government incentives a plus.
- Travel to
customer and non-customer sites (35%).
- Periodic
meetings and management interaction at company’s Northeast US
Headquarters.
